After the digital release of their much-awaited Playstation 5, Sony has confirmed that they are currently working on the next generation VR headset. The new generation VR headset will be specifically made for Playstation 5 and will have a lot of new features that the previous generation. The news does not come from any kind of official source but for a new job listing by Sony, that confirms that the company is currently working on developing a new headset. 

The listing mentions that “We are developing a next-generation VR head-mounted display“. There is also the new confirmation by Upload VR, that Sony is currently higher a bigger team for the new generation VR headset and a total of 15 openings have been listed. The information does seem to be legit and it seems like the process is currently in the early stage of development. The job listing also says this about the skills required in charge of the mechanical design of the lens barrel supporting the optical system, small and lightweight housing, heat radiation design, development of jig for optical system evaluation, etc,. 

It is not confirmed yet that the VR headset will be specifically designed for PlayStation users, but since the opening has been shared by Sony Corp Japan, it might be a possibility that the headset is being developed for a much wider audience of Sony, which can be used with multiple of their products. There has been no official confirmation from Sony yet on the development of the new VR headset, and it might take a while before that happens as it is still in the early process of development.
